GATE was presented at the international seminar “The smart city project – the building block of digital transformation” that was organized on 28 April 2022 by the Cluster Sofia Knowledge City and the University of Library Science and IT.
Kaloyan Karamitov, City Living Lab Manager at GATE Institute, gave a talk on Digital Twins for Urban Planning and Design. It was focused on the Future cities application area’s main pilot research and related projects such as parametric planning, analysis for social infrastructure shortage, and CFD simulations. The City Living Lab was presented as an instrument for receiving real-time data on various parameters that would help develop the models of the urban environment.
The event was part of the ongoing international project “Smart skills for smarter cities”, funded by the Erasmus+ Programme and supported by members of the cluster and the Digitalization, Innovation and Economic Development Department at Sofia Municipality.
Over 50 participants attended the event. Most of them were representatives of smart city stakeholders, students and those who are interested in smart city technologies, challenges and good practices.
