The conference, organized by Alpha Ring International in partnership with the Faculty of Physics of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, brought together experts and scientists from CERN and Silicon Valley, business leaders and representatives of institutions to discuss the key role of nuclear fusion and technologies in the search for clean energy, as well as the development opportunities for Bulgarian students.

The Director of the GATE Institute, Prof. Sylvia Ilieva welcomed the participants to the forum, emphasizing the importance of big data in solving the challenges of the modern world:

“We are pleased to host this inspiring forum, where science, technology and bold ideas come together. At GATE, we work on the application of big data and artificial intelligence in the real world to solve significant societal challenges. For us, innovation is a way of thinking. And today’s event fully reflects this. Here at GATE, we believe in the power of collaboration and are proud to be part of a community that is expanding the boundaries of science and technology.”

Prof. Alexander Gunn from the University of California emphasized: “Bulgaria can be part of the energy revolution. The country has the potential to be a leader in clean energy through investments in innovation and renewable sources.”

Fusion Future Conference presented Alpha-E – a cutting-edge platform for education and research in the field of nuclear energy (based on the fusion of light nuclei), developed in Silicon Valley in collaboration with Oxford University and MIT. The Alpha-E accelerator will be part of the practical training of Bulgarian students at the Faculty of Physics of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. For the first time in the European Union, students will have the opportunity to touch the heart of nuclear fusion through the technology.
