An inspiring start of the GATE Summer Internship Program

The journey into the world of big data and artificial intelligence has begun with the steps of a dance for the participants of the GATE Summer Internship Program 2024. Eighteen students from different universities in Bulgaria and abroad, with the desire and ambition to develop their skills in the field of new technologies and to be part of the team of researchers working on applied research in the field of Future cities, Digital health, and Disinformation enthusiastically crossed the threshold of the high-tech building of the Institute.

GATE initiates an improved environment of the Lozenets University Campus

Driven by the idea of ​​creating a beautiful and sustainable environment, the GATE Institute became the initiator of improving the surrounding space of the Lozenets campus of Sofia University. Supported by the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics, the Faculty of Physics, and the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy at SU “St. Kliment Ohridski”, GATE issued a challenge to the future landscape architects from the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy (UACG) to prepare a Concept for the development of the environment of the “Lozenets” University Campus. The idea aligns with the values ​​and activities of the GATE Institute and its “Future Cities” application area, which carries out applied research related to various aspects of the urban environment.

A webinar on sustainable cities gathered over 250 attendees from around the world

The Urban Futures: Navigating the Path to Sustainable and Resilient Cities Webinar, organized by the GATE Institute and the Center for Computational Sciences, University of Tsukuba, Japan, with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Tokyo, gathered listeners and participants from 5 continents and 48 countries . The event is part of the partnership initiatives between the GATE Institute and the Center for Computational Sciences, University of Tsukuba following the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two institutions last month.
