The event is organized jointly by GATE, Ontotext and Identrics. Technology experts and information specialists will discuss the problems of detecting and tracking disinformation and what solutions new technologies and fact-checking tools can provide. Emphasis will be placed on the role of artificial intelligence and the use of big data in the detection of false information.

The event is divided into two panels – technological and practical. A discussion is also planned, during which the lecturers will answer questions.

Among the panellists will be: Nikola Tulechki (data expert at Ontotext); Dennis Teisu (Editor-in-Chief of Medialab, Agence France-Presse); Vasil Shivachev (COO in Identrics); Assoc. Prof. Ralitsa Kovacheva (Editor-in-Chief of FactCheck.bg); Todor Galev (Director of Research at Centre for the study of democracy); Rosen Bosev (journalist at “AFP Check”, Agence France-Presse). Assoc. Prof. Milena Dobreva (GATE) will participate as a moderator.

The “Technology against disinformation” conference is aimed at journalists or citizens who are interested in the means of detecting false information; researchers interested in and developing technologies in the field of artificial intelligence; students looking for interesting areas for development; teachers involved in the development of media and information literacy programs.

The live event will be held at the Resonator Co-Innovation Hub, Sofia. The event is free, but pre-registration is required.
