With respect to its intensive development, GATE CoE is looking for Project Portfolio Manager to coordinate the GATE research and innovation project portfolio.

Position’s responsibilities

  • Coordinates a research and innovation project intake, evaluation, and prioritization.
  • Engages key stakeholders to evaluate proposed and ongoing projects based on strategic alignment, value, risk, effort, and cost.
  • Aligns the project prioritization with the strategic research and innovation strategy and annual plan objectives.
  • Works with key stakeholders and budget managers to assess and track financial impact of all project work.
  • Develops and maintains project governance tools, templates, guidelines, procedures and processes.
  • Directs the creation and maintenance of the required project portfolio documentation and artifacts.
  • Provides formal training and support related to project and portfolio management.
  • Works with project teams to oversee the full range of the project life cycle (initiate, plan, execute, close).
  • Ensure the oversight and coordination of dependencies across the projects in the portfolio, and resolve or escalate conflicts.
  • Supports effective delivery of the largest and most strategically important projects including scope, schedule, cost, risk, resources, and quality.
  • Establishes, maintains, and provides portfolio management reporting using appropriate KPI metrics.
  • Conducts quarterly reviews with senior business and research stakeholders, Project Steering Committee and other relevant bodies to assess and validate the project portfolio, reprioritize and execute changes to meet business and research needs.

Position’s requirements

  • Master’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field.
  • Additional master’s degree in business administration or relevant highly desired and advantageous.
  • PMI PMP/ACP, PRINCE2 Practitioner or other equivalent program/project management certification by internationally recognized methodologies and institutions.
  • At least 7 years of successful experience in preparation, planning, delivery, and implementation of complex ICT programs/projects in classic waterflow and/or agile methodologies.
  • Creative problem-solving skills to analyze and solve complex problems and reporting issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build strong working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, including internal and external colleagues, students and external stakeholders.
  • A clear communicator with diverse groups, including adults and young people.

The GATE Institute is seeking to appoint Researchers in 3D City Modeling, Analysis and Simulation who will be involved in the GATE City Digital Twin project. It is a large interdisciplinary flagship project aiming to develop a digital twin platform for designing, testing, applying and servicing the entire lifecycle of the built environment. An ultimate goal of the projects is to go beyond digital replicas and visualizations to explore the full potential of integrating data from all stages of urban development and thus push the applications of urban modelling, simulation, analysis and visualization.

Your responsibilities

Common

  • Develop new methods and automated solutions for the integration and 3D visualisation of data (including geo-spatial and spatial-temporal data) originating from multiple distributed sources (cadastral data, satellite images, point clouds);
  • Develop 3D models that combine geometric details, rich semantics and spatial relationships;
  • Contribute to the development of ontology-based definitions and standard’s extensions;
  • Proposes appropriate (and innovative) data ingestion, preparation, integration and enrichment techniques, optimally addressing data quality requirements;
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest technology trends and relevant technical standards and data models, such as Resource Description Framework (RDF), OGC geospatial standards like CityGML and SensorThings, ISO standards and others;
  • Scientific paper writing;

Requirements

  • A PhD Degree in computer science, application informatics, engineering, or in a related discipline or a Master’s Degree plus a minimum of 4 years of industry-based relevant research experience;
  • Prior experience with GIS is desirable;
  • Experience in existing simulation modelling software such as WRF, ENVI-met, etc.;
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, R, and others;
  • Experience participating in research projects involving a wide variety of constituents and stakeholders;
  • A scientific contribution through original research that extends the frontier of knowledge by developing a body of work, innovation or application, evidenced by publications, software output, technology transfers etc.;
  • Proven ability in critical analysis, evaluation and synthesis of new and complex ideas;

Responsibilities

  • Coordination of the companies’ participation in the DIANA (NATO) tests;
  • Participation in information and communication activities between the participants and the Institute in accordance with regulatory requirements and good practices;
  • Planning and coordinating communication and information activities in the DIANA ecosystem;
  • Participating in advising companies on any queries or issues arising;
  • Ensuring proper coordination and participation in executive level correspondence on tests;
  • Maintaining the framework for coordinating the Institute’s resources in its role as a test center by reviewing and providing input data for documentation, maintaining up-to-date specialized databases, producing reports;
