GATE is a joint initiative between Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden and Chalmers Industrial Technology, Sweden. The Swedish institutions are leading organizations in strategic initiatives such as AI Sweden, AI Research Centre, AI Innovation of Sweden and the Digital Twin Cities Centre.
GATE develops research capacity and potential in Big Data and Artificial Intelligence, cultivating the next generation of leading scientists by expanding the existing research network and establishing long-term agreements with leading global organizations. The Institute builds sustainable stakeholder relationships, focusing on technological collaboration between government, industry, academia and non-governmental organizations towards Artificial Intelligence and smart decision-making models.

The City Living Lab is designed to be an intelligent lab, digitally enabled to ease data collection, flow and storage of data for learning, research, interaction, collaboration and communication

Senior Software Developer
This position is suitable for an experienced architect/programmer with in-depth knowledge of distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and data management.
We are looking for a motivated and highly qualified software developer/architect who thinks innovatively, takes initiative, and is ready to take a leading role in the development of the Data Space platform. The position is suitable for a specialist with 10+ years of experience, deep technical expertise, and a desire to work on innovative and challenging projects.

Researchers in Semantic interoperability for data spaces (R1 & R2)

Data spaces are a highly innovative area that is gaining increasing popularity at both the European and regional levels as a key element of the future data-driven economy. Data spaces provide an environment that facilitates secure and trusted data exchange between participants and offer a comprehensive framework encompassing the technological, business, and organizational aspects of this exchange. The researchers will be involved in an international project in collaboration with two of the most prestigious research institutes in Europe: Norway’s SINTEF Institute and Ireland’s INSIGHT Institute. The project’s aim is to build a knowledge transfer framework between the partners and develop a visionary scientific strategy to enhance research capacity in the field of data space interoperability. The project’s outcomes will be applied to drive innovations in areas of significant social and economic importance.
Applicants for this position should have experience in the field of information technology, and knowledge and skills in semantic technologies and data sharing.
