GATE Institute is seeking a qualified and experienced System Administrator to join our team. In the role of System Administrator, you will play a key role in managing and maintaining the information technologies of the institute.

 

Responsibilities

• Researching and implementing information technologies in business to optimize work processes.
• Developing and executing plans for data protection and policies for administering computer networks and associated computer environments.
• Analyzing, developing, and evaluating complex system projects and specifications for system architecture.
• Deploying, operating, and maintaining the information and communication systems of the institute.
• Identifying potential risks and weaknesses in information equipment and offering alternative solutions.
• Planning the need for new hardware or software and managing various environments in the institute.
• Expanding and finding solutions for various environments for tests and simulations.
• Managing network resources and providing methodical assistance to users with application software problems.
• Implementing protection against unauthorized use of network resources and external interference.
• Resolving software and hardware problems that arise during the operation of applications and computer systems.
• Participating in the implementation of new technological solutions at the Institute.
• Preparing operational reports and statements on the status, problems, and opportunities for development of the technological environment.
• Performing other specific tasks related to the position.

 

Candidate Requirements

• Secondary or higher education in one of the following areas: technical and computer sciences, mathematics, informatics, communication and computer engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of work experience, with at least 3 years of professional experience in the relevant field.
• In-depth knowledge and practical experience with various technologies and products, including but not limited to:
• Active Directory
• Exchange Server, Message Hygiene, High Availability of Mail Service
• Different types of file servers
• Computer networks – addressing, routing
• Familiarity with basic protocols – HTTP, DNS, SMTP, IMAPv4, ICMP
• Experience with monitoring systems – Nagios-based/Zabbix/OpenNMS
• Experience with backup/restore systems
• Practical experience in administering virtualization systems.
• Very good level of written and spoken English.
• Confidentiality in carrying out duties and assigned tasks.
• Ability to synthesize information, present results, take responsibility, and take adequate actions.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and solve problems in a dynamic environment.
• Discretion, responsibility, precision, loyalty.

• Leading an internal team coordinating the operational aspect of DIANA.

 

Education and Experience Required

 

• Higher education in Public/Business Administration, Information and Communication Technology and/or other relevant to the subject area and activities of the Institute.
• Additional specialization in strategic and business planning, corporate governance and publicly funded project management is an advantage.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in a similar position.

 

Required Expertise

 

• Additional specialization in planning, management and reporting of projects with European and national public funding is an advantage;
• Excellent oral and written English language skills;
• Proficiency in MS Office;
• Team player with great interpersonal and communication skills;
• Strong self-motivation, results orientation, organizational skills and attention to detail;

• Ensuring the processes for searching and attracting companies to test their products within the DIANA accelerator.
• Identify technologies and manufacturers that can participate in the DIANA Accelerator and establish communication with them.
• Determine the tasks and resources needed to implement the testing activities.
• Participation in the preparation of business plans, budgets and other documents for project implementation.
• Analyzing the progress of the test activities and taking measures to correct deviations.
• Arranging business negotiations with NATO and interested companies.
• Preparation of periodic reports and maintenance of information databases.

 

Education and Experience Required

 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in management, logistics or other related field. Knowledge and experience in international relations will be an advantage;
