In the period July 10-12, 2023, a national seminar on “Strategic forecasting in the public sector” was held in the city of Troyan. The event brought together leading experts from the state administration engaged in strategic forecasting and planning. It was attended by representatives of the Council of Ministers, various ministries and departments, state agencies, as well as experts from the units managing the structural funds of the European Union. Various problems related to strategic planning and forecasting were discussed, and the event took place in an interactive form, with the active involvement of all participants.
The lecture of the representative of the GATE institute Dr Orlin Kouzov on the topic “Strategic planning in the era of big data and artificial intelligence” caused great interest. In it, the representative of the academic community outlined the prospects of increasing the skills of the public administration in the field of big data as a key factor for the successful realization of the goals of the employees engaged in strategic planning. Many questions were asked, and the participants united around the opinion about the usefulness of knowledge related to big data and artificial intelligence and expressed their desire to include such lectures in future trainings.
