GATE team held its kick-off meeting in the afternoon of October 7th and on October 8th, 2019, at Sofia Tech Park.
The aim of the meeting, according to the project coordinator Prof. Sylvia Ilieva from Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics, Sofia University, was to get GATE’s big picture and to establish common understanding of the future work.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the European Commission – Magda de Carli, Head of Unit, DG RTD, European Commission, Ales Fiala, Head of Unit, Research Executive Agency (REA), and Oana Radu Project adviser and GATE project officer, REA. They presented their expectations for the project and its potential impact, and focused on the necessary rules and procedures during the project life-time.
The official representatives of GATE partners from Sweden – Ivica Crnkovic, Director of ICT Area of Advance, Chalmers University of Technology, Director of Chalmers AI Research Centre (CHAIR) and Golaleh Ebrahimpur, CEO of Chalmers Industriteknik (CIT) – also took part in the discussions and shared their vision on the implementation of the project.
After a team-building exercise, where GATE team identified their common values, the project coordinator and work package leaders presented in details the tasks to be completed during the first project year and made suggestions for the organization of the work. The presentations were followed by discussions and task distribution. The meeting ended with planning of the upcoming activities.
