The Director of the GATE Institute at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski ”Prof. Silvia Ilieva and Borislav Bankov, Business Development Expert at the Institute, were invited to a working meeting organized by President Rumen Radev on Bulgaria’s participation in the NATO Defense Innovation Accelerator (DIANA). The meeting was held on April 19, 2022, in the Presidency of the Republic of Bulgaria.
Earlier this month, GATE was recognized as a test centre in the field of big data and artificial intelligence by the DIANA network, together with the Institute of Defense “Prof. Tsvetan Lazarov”, whose director Colonel Assoc. Prof. Borislav Genov also took part in the meeting with the president.
According to the President, the two test centres in our country are a good basis for involving our country in the introduction of new high-tech solutions in the field of security and defense.
At the meeting, the two institutes outlined the main areas in which they plan to work to contribute to the prestige of Bulgaria as a reliable and active ally in the field of innovation, as well as to support the development of the technological potential of the Alliance.
