The GATE Institute and Sofia Municipality will join efforts to build new models of interaction between higher education and municipal administration, according to a recent co-operation agreement between the two institutions.
Initially, the cooperation is focused on data exchange and the construction of the GATE’s City Living Lab, and in the future, it will expand with new areas of common interest.
The agreement provides for regular meetings between Sofia Municipality officials and researchers from the GATE Institute to discuss development opportunities for the City Living Lab and to support the implementation of the digitalization strategy of Sofia, as well as the participation of GATE’s representatives in forums organized by Sofia Municipality. The municipality undertakes to assist in the structuring, storage, processing and visualization of data related to urban planning and architecture, environment and transport network of the city of Sofia and for the construction of a unified data platform.
