A national training forum on “Data in the public sector” was held in Pazardzhik on 21 -23 June 2023. It was organized by the Institute of Public Administration and funded under the Operational Programme “Good Governance”. The forum was attended by more than 40 representatives of the public administration. The discussions included topics such as data policies, data protection and practical applications of artificial intelligence trained on large language models.
A special guest of the forum was Orlin Kouzov – Education Lab Manager at GATE Institute, who gave a presentation on “Data spaces and their role in the knowledge economy”. The presentation was listened to with great interest by the attendees. Many questions were raised about the role of data spaces and the benefits for the administration from the cooperation with representatives of the academic institutions. The attendees agreed that the role of data in the modern economy is increasingly important and projects such as “Urban Data Spaces” and “Data Spaces in the field of cultural heritage”, initiated by GATE, will have a key role in the management processes. The representatives of the public institutions have an undoubted interest and potential benefits from their future involvement in such projects and would be glad to receive additional information and training on these subjects.
