Boris Velichkov is a Junior researcher at the Data Analytics Research group at GATE Institute. His research area is focused on natural language processing and the application of various methods of machine learning, as the context of the applied field is mainly in the area of medicine.

Boris Velichkov graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics (FMI) at Sofia University  with a master’s degree in “Information Extraction and Knowledge Discovery” in 2017. He is currently a discharged doctoral student with the right to defend his thesis of the doctoral program “Software Technologies (Knowledge Discovery)” at the same university and faculty.

From 2012 to 2019 he has worked as a software developer. He has also been teaching as a part-time lecturer from 2013 to 2021 and as a full-time employee from 2021 until now, again at FMI, Sofia University.
