Olga Georgieva is a Senior Researcher at the GATE Institute, contributing to the research work focussed on data mining, modelling and reasoning for knowledge-based analysis and process understanding.

Olga graduated from the Technical University in Sofia, Bulgaria with a Master Degree in Automatics. She received a PhD in Process Control at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) in 1995. Her career as a scientist began and developed within BAS. Since 2008, she is with the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, Department of Software Engineering, where in 2020 she became a professor. She is the head of the department since 2014.  

Olga Georgieva has more than eighty scientific publications presented as book chapters and research papers drafted within more than thirty research projects, including those with international collaboration. She has international research specializations in different universities as the TU Hamburg-Harburg, University of Applied Sciences-Wolfenbuettel, Germany; University of Ghent, Belgium and La Sapienza, Italy.
